C. Raul Ayala founded with his close friend Renato Kan, Tai Chi for Health Ecuador in 1995 with the idea of promoting the practice of Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong in a country where it was practically unknown.

In 2002 they organised the first WTCQD in Ecuador at Parque del Lago managing to get a very interesting reaction from the media and surprisingly about 400 people showed up to practice and to learn about these ancient arts. Since then, Tai Chi for Health Ecuador has organised yearly the event and the words Tai Chi and Qi Gong have become familiar to Ecuadorians, even though is still a long way to go before we can call it an activity for the masses.

C. Raul was previously involved in other martial arts practice, but is presently devoted to teaching and sharing with others the benefits of TC and QG. He also teaches Tai Chi at Universidad de Especialidades Espiritu Santo."
