In our last email we announced the wonderful Reuters article on Tai Chi's benefits for the immune system, and for those with Type 2 Diabetes.

USA Today did a nearly full page article on March 5, 2007, entitled "Get With the Tai Chi Program." The Kansas City Star did TWO TAI CHI ARTICLES in the last two weeks.

UTAH Teacher Reaches Out to Other Local Teachers, Schools, Groups

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Professor Bill Parkinson's of Utah (USA) has written a generous and visionary invitation to local teachers of other styles and schools to participate in their local Utah event.
We honor his work, and provide it as an inspiration to us all to find ways to work together and mutually support one another's work.
Locally, I work mainly on health & healing, and regularly refer students seeking more martial art training to other local teachers more knowledgeable in that area. We can support one another. We all have various skills and talents, and by working together to promote all in the Tai Chi & Qigong world . . . we support our own good works.
"Alone we can do . . . so little . . . together, so much."
-- Helen Keller
*****************************
Dear Friends, Professor Bill Parkinson would like to invite you and your students to our annual celebration of World T'ai Chi & QiGong Day on Saturday April 28 2007, at the Marriott Library Plaza on the University of Utah campus. This will mark our eighth year celebrating this wonderful art that has changed all of our lives for the better. Naturally, this event is a great opportunity for you to attract new students. To help you achieve that, we invite each of you to prepare short presentations which showcase your school's unique offerings. Of course individual demonstrations are not mandatory, and we would love to just see you there. This event is a tremendous opportunity to meet and socialize with fellow practitioners and perhaps pick up new techniques and ideas to expand your personal knowledge of the arts of T'ai Chi and Qigong. Please let me know if you plan to come, and if you plan to perform a demonstration. Of course, getting new students is difficult if the general public isn't informed of this free event and encouraged to be there. Any effort you would like to contribute to promoting this event, from simply putting a poster in the window of your studio, to contacting sympathetic members of the press that you happen to know, to helping distribute fliers via T'ai Chi friendly businesses, is welcome and greatly appreciated. Please contact me if you're interested in helping with promotion in any capacity. For those not familiar with this annual event, World T'ai Chi & QiGong day was started in 1999 by Kansas City instructor Bill Douglas, with the purpose of educating the world to the profound implications T'ai Chi & QiGong can offer our personal, social, and world health. This celebration is held on the last Saturday in April each year falling at the end of the same month as United Nations World Health day and Earth day. It features T'ai Chi & QiGong groups around the world gathering at 10 am (each city's local time) to exhibit T'ai Chi & QiGong to the public at mass gatherings in public parks or the lawns of public buildings, so as to be visible to the community and media . . .
I have already submitted our request for an official declaration to the Governor's office, and am awaiting approval. As always, we plan to meet the governor on the signing day, where he will greet us, and sign our declaration. The Governor's office takes photos of the signing, so we all wear our nicest uniforms/clothing and do our best to be presentable. If you would like to join us for the signing event, please let me know.
I have created a unique page on my website with information regarding the event. You are welcome to copy any of that information for your own sites. The URL is: http://www.dragonstudiostaichi.com/world-tai- chi-day.html.
If you know of a T'ai Chi instructor or group that was not included on this list, please let them know that they, too, are welcome, and pass this message along to them. If you have received this message in error, or prefer that I not contact you regarding our celebration of WTCQD in Utah, please let me know.
Kindest regards,
JC Carter Dragon Studios Taijiquan
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Recently, we placed "The National Qigong Association," "Canadian Taijiquan Federation," and "European Taiji Federation," links on the homepage of www.worldtaichiday.org.

The National Qigong Association has placed a wonderful promotional posting to encourage their members and readers to join our global health & healing event this April, 28th, 2007, 10 am local time worldwide.

Below is the post, you'll find at www.NQA.org.

World Tai Chi & Qigong Day

On Saturday, April 28th, 2007 Tai Chi and Qigong (Chi Kung) schools in hundreds of cities and sixty nations will hold mass exhibitions and teach-ins. Many will partner with their local, national, or international media to gain coverage for their events, and use the vast medical research library at www.worldtaichiday.org to educate the media, and through them the public of emerging medical research.

World Tai Chi & Qigong Day also offers us a chance to create a vision of global cooperation for the purpose of health & healing. By being carried by national television in some countries we affect millions around the planet with the calming images unfolding time zone by time zone across our planet as it turns to 10 am worldwide. The first events are in the earliest time zone of New Zealand, and then spread across sixty nations to finally complete with the final time zones of Hawaii.

World Tai Chi & Qigong Day is a free event open to all worldwide. Anything a school needs to organize an event can be found in the School Resources at www.worldtaichiday.org which include: free school listings; free school search capability; Organizing Kits, Media Kits, and a Medical Research library to educate your community on Tai Chi and Qigong benefits. You'll also find ready-made 2007 WTCQD Press Releases in 18 languages, with a space to paste in your local event information. In 2007 WTCQD is now listed on the US Department of Health & Human Services' National Health Observance Calendar. It has been officially proclaimed by governors of 18 states, and senates and mayors of various nations.

Join the world on the last Saturday of April each year to breathe with the world, 10 am worldwide. World Tai Chi & Qigong Day — "One World . . . One Breath."

World Tai Chi Qigong Day is a Reciprocal Associate of the National Qigong Association. Please refer to “School Resources” on www.worldtaichiday.org for a direct link to the NQA; NQA member events in your area can be found on the same website. World Tai Chi & Qigong Day may SPEAK AT MAJOR PARKINSON'S SUPPORT EVENT

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Although it's not official yet, World Tai Chi & Qigong Day may be a key-note at a major Parkinson's Support event held on World Tai Chi & Qigong Day - 2007
If I have the opportunity, I will use it to encourage Parkinson's Disease sufferers worldwide to search the free "School Directory" in "Everyone's Resources" at www.worldtaichiday.org so they can connect with your local groups and schools, and enjoy the gifts of Tai Chi and/or Qigong that you have to offer them.
We'll keep you posted as this develops.
