This will be the "last" update before we all celebrate our global "breath" together next Saturday, the 29th.
A few IMPORTANT NOTES, below. But first we want you to know how proud we are to be a part of this annual global health & healing event we have ALL co- created together.
PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE AT THE OPENING OF YOUR EVENT, AS A PERSONAL MESSAGE TO ALL PARTICIPATING WITH YOU LOCALLY, FROM US AT THE INT'L CENTER FOR WORLD TAI CHI & QIGONG DAY:
This global wave of goodwill provides a vision of hope and healing to a world hungry for such visions. Each year to view the photos of people from different cultures, religions, and every corner of the earth . . . breathing together . . . in this global Tai Chi & Qigong movement . . . is profound.
When you look thru the photographs and videos you see that "look" on people's faces, a look that conveys a feeling that all of us who've experience the well-being that Qi, or life energy, expands through our mind and body when we make the space to breathe . . . and to let, calm, and wellness expand thru us.
When you see that look in all these diverse faces, from so many different lands, you can't help but deeply realize that we are indeed "one world . . . and, . . . one breath."
We are all connected by the field of life energy that physicists are now discovering permeates all existence.
By emersing ourselves in the field of life energy again and again, we become more and more grounded in the absolute reality that . . . we are all connected . . . all part of the web of life. And, by cultivating and growing the realization personally and globally, we may help in a subtle quiet way to usher in a more elegant future that nurtures us all in ways we cannot yet even imagine.
Again, thank you for making this extraordinary event and health movement possible thru your organizing and participation each year.
Bill Douglas & Angela Wong Douglas, Co-Founders of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day
Please read the important notes below . . .
When TALKING TO MEDIA before, or during your event
When you speak to your media, have a few talking points prepared. Most media is pretty sound byte oriented. If you can say alot in a short time, it'll get better coverage. Visit our "Medical Research" link below at www.worldtaichiday.org to get research info on a few health issues Tai Chi & Qigong are proven to help. The most common health issues are "high blood pressure," "heart disease," "depression, anxiety," "sleep disorders," and "chronic pain" conditions.
Speak to the media about emerging Tai Chi & Qigong medical research on those conditions, you'll find those and other research at the below link.
TELL THE MEDIA in your area about WWW.WORLDTAICHIDAY.ORG
When you do media releases it is VERY important to list your local contact information, and website for your local school(s). HOWEVER, it is equally important to urge them to list www.worldtaichiday.org as a contact for national and international information on this global event. Why?
Say, if a school in Kansas City gets a story picked up by the wire services that is published in a dozen newspapers worldwide, but only lists their local Kansas City school(s) contact information . . . then all those tens of thousands of readers in those other cities where the article is published . . . have no way of contacting teachers in their communities.
Whereas if the Kansas City group had published BOTH their "local" website(s) as "local" contacts" and "www.worldtaichiday.org" as "national and international contacts and directory," then ALL the readers of the article worldwide would find schools in their areas thru the comprehensive "free" World Tai Chi & Qigong Day School Directory.

WE WILL BE OUT OF TOWN - Los Angeles Invited us to Their WTCQD this year.
The National Tai Chi Association in Los Angeles, has invited me (Bill Douglas), and my wife (Angela Wong Douglas) to make a presentation as co-founder of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day at their event in Los Angeles on WTCQD 2006, next Saturday.
LA was one of the first major cities to embrace this global vision of health & healing, and it is our honor to play Tai Chi & Qigong with them on this auspicious event.
We are actually leaving town tomorrow (Friday 4/21), as the documentary covering World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, "At the End of the Day," is bringing us to Hawaii to interview there where WTCQD ends each year, to interview for that soon to be released documentary. I'll be checking email intermittently, but if you don't hear from me that is why. If you have an emergency call, such as media that wants an interview or in depth information on the international aspect of WTCQD, or how it developed into a global event, you can reach me on my cell phone at 913-486-8526, but again use this sparingly only if necessary, as we'll be booking, and doing some radio interviews over this phone line.
This also means that we will not be in town to "immediately" begin posting your photos and videos on WTCQD this year.
We'll be back a few days after WTCQD, so STILL email them to us (see details below), but realize we'll actually start posting them at www.worldtaichiday.org a few days later this year.
PHOTO SUBMISSION SPECS to WTCQD
When you email your photos try to keep them as large as below specs:
Optimum specs for media photos 2400 x 3000 pixels 8.5 x 10
By sending them this large, if media is interested in them in the future, they'll be a quality they can use to publish.
So, only send us your best 4 or 5 photos, with:
City, State, Country where photo/event was at
url of school(s) holding event or providing photo
a "very brief" concise statement of what the day meant to you, or your group
a statement of "PERMISSION" for us to use the photos, or video at www.worldtaichiday.org, and to provide it to interested media in the future, or use it in other publications, such as calendar's, webpostings, documentaries, etc.
For video, you can send us a link to the video on your local site, or you can send us a .mov or .wav file. But if you send us a video or audio file it MUST be very short, only 5 to 15 seconds at the most.
You may also be able to send us a link to a Pod Cast, if you put it up as a Pod Cast somewhere we can link to. There would be no time restriction if it is such a link, or we link to video on your site.
THOUSANDS OF MULTI-LINUAL WTCQD PRESS RELEASES SENT TO MAJOR MEDIA
World Tai Chi & Qigong Day has just sent out thousands more Press Releases announcing YOUR WTCQD EVENTS in many countries and all 50 US states.
We've contacted major media in most parts of the planet, and as you send out your local WTCQD Press releases to your media, they'll get a double exposure alert about covering your event.
We've had MAJOR MEDIA success already, including an upcoming BBC World Radio, and KPFK Los Angeles radio interview days before WTCQD.
Again, we DEPEND on local organizers to encourage media to list your "local" website or contact info, but ALSO to list www.worldtaichiday.org as the "International Contact" and "world directory of events". Without your help in urging media to do this, the growth of this extraordinary event is limited.
