First in the world to start WTCQD N.Z. Christchurch, New Brighton - by the Sea. A group of approximately 40 people took part led by Dave Thew - Phoenix Tai Chi (in blue). After completion of the long form demonstrations were provided by Sean Wang - Wu Style (in white), Dave Thew - Ba Gua Zhang (in blue), and Geraldine Parkes - Hara Alignment.

I had a new banner made for this year. For 5 previous years, I kept saving the butcher paper banner my students and I had created by hand with poster paints. I decided it was time to retire it, and invest in a "real" banner of heavy-duty plastic with grommets and printed text. It looked great, but now I'm committed to many more years of hosting World Tai Chi and Qigong Day, until this banner wears out...
