Biography ...
Pete Anthony Gryffin, PhD, MS, is Author of “Tai Chi Therapy: The Science of Metarobics: A NEW EVOLUTION IN HEALTH AND FITNESS,” and is an educator, researcher, speaker and writer, with an extensive background in mindful exercise, including tai chi, qigong and traditional kung fu.

Dr. Gryffin's award-winning book on his work in this area, "Mindful Exercise: Metarobics, Healing, and the Power of Tai Chi" has received powerful reviews from leaders in the field of health. Dr. Gryffin is a regular contributor and invited speaker for conferences, as well as for magazines and journals in the area of health and mindful exercise.

He was an Alumni Fellow at the University of Florida, where the focus of his work was on mindfulness and health behavior. While teaching at Fullerton College he developed eight new courses oriented around wilderness experiences and mindful exercise for the health of mind and body.

and founded the "Chromatic Healing Foundation," and is the World Tai Chi Day organizer for Egypt.

Mohamed Essa Mekawy is A Wushu Kung Fu Champion, and is the Founder of the Blue Lotus Well Being Foundation in Cairo, Egypt a global foundation who specialized in the area of Mind, Body and Soul wellness, and is the Founder of Chromatic Healing.

Chromatic Healing has been developed based on Mohamed Essa’s study and experience in BioEnergy, Chinese Medicine and BioPhysics and BioMathematics making use of his major as Engineer, including his education in Chinese Medicine Practice from Beijing China and NLP and Neuro-Semantics coach. Mohamed Essa is a certified Pranic Teacher for Level one and two and three , and he was credited as teacher in 2010 and he was the first person to Introduce Pranic Healing to Egypt in 2007 .

Dr. Robert J. Woodbine, Wellness Lifestyle Consultant, Writer
Dr. Robert Woodbine has studied, practiced, and taught Chinese Qigong and Taijiquan since 1985--teaching communal self-reliance and optimal well-being through these disciplines.

Robert is a Naturopathic Doctor and licensed acupuncturist, who did a 3 year residency program with Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming at YMAA.

Dr. Woodbine has been organizing Harlem, New York's annual World Tai Chi & Qigong Day celebrations in Harlem's historic St. Nicholas Park.

Biography ...
Dr. Effie Chow is an internationally renowned expert in Qigong and Taoist arts with over 30 years of experience in teaching subtle energy methods internationally. She is one of the most recognized leaders in the field of Qigong in America today.

Recipient of the "Visionary of the Year 1997," "The Humanitarian of the Year 1999" and "The Visionary of the Decade 2000" Awards, Dr. Effie Chow has for over 40 years been working to integrate Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western Medicine. Toward this goal, she founded the East West Academy of Healing Arts in 1973 in San Francisco. In 1988 an arm of that organization was established within the Academy to promote research and clinical work in medical Qigong.

In 2003 she was appointed by the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago to their National Task Force on The 21st Century Initiative on Life and Health.

In 2004 she was invited to join the 15 member international Advisory Board of the CAM Health Expo, and in 2005 - the 20 member Advisory Board of the National Library of Medicine - Asian American Health Website Users Group.

In 2006, Dr. Chow became an Associate of AHA! Ventures Int'l. In 2007, the Editorial Board of the Boardroom Inc., Bottom Line Women's Health Publications, and Editorial Board of the prestigious new "super peer-reviewed publication, "The Journal of the Science of Healing Outcomes". In October of the same year, American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine honored her as one of the "Pioneers and Leaders of Oriental Medicine in the USA".

Sifu Bev Abela is the Founder of Tai Chi @ The Beach, and serves as the Official World Tai Chi & Qigong Day – World Healing Day Organizer for Perth, Australia. Bev earned a black belt in karate at a very young age, and then spent decades studying and teaching Tai Chi. In 2008 Tai Chi @ The Beach was nominated for the Small Business of the Year Award.

In 2004 Bev created a program called Tai Chi @ Work to be used as a corporate stress management tool in the workplace, bringing humour into a unique Tai Chi workplace program. Bev chose to hold classes at the beach for the healing energy and positive atmosphere. This was the beginning of Tai Chi @ The Beach. In 2012 Bev was invited to present her Tai Chi program at Bandyup Women’s Prison in Western Australia. This was the beginning of a 3 year run of weekly sessions for the facility, proving very beneficial to the wellbeing of both inmates and staff.

Bev’s other passion is music and she combined her loves, Tai Chi and Music, at the 2012 World Healing Day – World Tai Chi & Qigong Day event (which celebrated Mind-Body Practices like of course Tai Chi and Qigong, but also included Yoga and Reiki) by singing a song she wrote that was inspired by WTCQD Founders Bill and Angela Wong Douglas, called “Heal The World.” In 2011 WTCQD Founder’s dedicated that years’ event to Bev’s daughter, Lydia, who had passed away just a few months earlier.

Nikola Maricic was the 2019 Macau Taekwondo Hall of Fame recipient Inductee to Macau Taekwondo Hall of Fame: Outstanding coach and contribution to development of sport of Taekwondo; and in 2019 Nikola won 3 gold medals at 8th World Health Qigong Tournament and Exchange and at the 4th World Health Qigong Scientific Symposium.

Nikola won Total 3 gold medals individually with Baduanjin 8 exercises and Yijinjing muscle tendon change , and with team from Macau got gold with Daoyin Yang Sheng Gong Shi er fa 12 steps

Biography ...
Dave Pickens is the founding instructor of Soul Good Tai Chi and has practiced martial arts for over fifty years. He began teaching as head kung fu instructor at Bergstrom AFB in 1974 at the request of Lt Col. Bruce Savage.

Upon discharge he lead a class at the Austin YWCA as well as Austin Community College where his Tai Chi program was the first to gain college accreditation in the State of Texas. He served as the National Chairman of the Chinese Martial Arts Division of the United States Amateur Athletic Union.

Dave's programs curriculums have been used in law enforcement and military personnel for de-escalation as well for self defense in apprehension and subject restraint. He holds the title of Chairman emeritus for the World Shuai Chiao and was one of the founders of World Tai Chi Qigong Day in Central Texas. He teaches privately and workshops.
